As long as you are consuming 0.6 grams per/pound of body weight you won't lose muscle, 1 gram is more than enough to grow, now a body weight at 225 lbs and around 14/15% body fat, about that's 190 grams of protein per/day to grow. If you were consuming 500 grams of protein and cut it to 190 grams you still wouldn't lose any muscle, that's bro science. All protein the body does not use gets converted to sugar in the liver and stored as fat, it's called glyconeogenisis. Plus all the sugar in most protein Powders means double fat storage. Even 4 meal per day at 50 grams protein is 200 grams, that's easily done.
