I tried one a guy had in the gym one night . Definitely can see where it would help for overload training . I think used once in a while it would help up your bench . My shoulder pain when I bench is coming down to far . If I stay a few inches off my chest it doesn't hurt near as much . some will argue its not a full rep but I don't give a shit , I'm a bodybuilder not a powerlifter .
Ive used bands in a rack to take off weigh on the lower end of the lift . I can go WAY heavier and without shoulder pain
Slingshot is great! I cann add more weight when im fatigued and push extra reps. Not only does it help shoulder pain also takes strain off my forearms. I had crippling tendonitis yesterday and the slingshot helped alot.
Off topic thought id share depending on your shoulder pain or tendonitis there is a method called "graston" practiced by some sport doctors or chiropractors. It is fucken painful ive literally used it almost everywhere and it is a miracle sometimes. It is a very aggressive treatment and breaks up muscle adhesions and scar tissue, like i said it painful but you will be avle to train the way u want without nagging pain once you get through it.
