Sleep apnea

I don't think you can actually die from Sleep Apnea. Where are the bodies?. I had a sleep study test years ago and I didn't have it. However it was at least 10 years ago. My Dad has Sleep Apnea. The sleep study was a real pain because I had to be hooked up to like 50 different leads connected to some machine. They put you in a room next to all the other rooms and you can hear all the other guys snoring. There is a camera pointed at the bed where they watch you in their control room. No way I'd go through all that again.

From sleepadvisor.org

“More than twenty-eight million of residents in the United States have this disorder, and 80% of them aren't even aware of it. About 38,000 of them die in their sleep every year, as the sleep-disordered breathing exacerbates a certain circulatory problem, which causes a stroke or fatal heart attack”

Was recently diagnosed with Sleep Apnea and have my CPAP machine coming Monday... I've suffered with broken sleep for the last 2-3 years and most recently, my wife says I STOP breathing alot for like 10-15
seconds and snore like a racehorse. So I had the study done and they confirmed of the sleep apnea. Looking forward to getting this and hopefully SLEEPING for 6-8 straight hours and not waking up every Fkn
hour like I have been for years...

I takes a little time to get used to the mask/nasal pillows but once your acclimated you'll never sleep without it.

Cpap has been a game changer for me. I used to take a quick doze before work in my car, (like 5 minutes) at break time and at lunch and always felt drugged. I would literally catch a few winks of sleep leaning over a print table with people behind me. I was fucking miserable. I’ve always had a great work ethic and even found myself sleeping at work.
Get one and don’t let it be an option. Don’t tell yourself it may be annoying and you can’t use it. It’s all in your mind. I told myself if people can put on a mask and dive 100 feet in the ocean then I can damn sure do It laying in my own bed

I’ve had sleep apnea for a couple years now and having a cpap has made a world of difference. When I am in off season my sleep sucks so I have to use cpap but when I am in contest shape my sleep improves but I still need to use the cpap. 240 is the lightest I’ve gotteb ina while and if I don’t wear the mask I still wake up tired but not as exhausted as I would at a heavier weight! Side note. The best mask I’ve found has been the res Med airfit 10. Having a mask that’s comfortable makes me more likely to wear it at night.

I would constantly feel fatigued throughout the day and typically would take naps sometime in the afternoon. Since I have been prescribed my CPAP I no longer feel tired and have more energy.

This one works great for me.

They gave me a small for some reason to start but I switched to a medium and it works great. Covers the mouth and fits up against nostrils so you can breathe from either.
Doesn’t your machine have humidity control?

I love my nasal mask until my nose clogs up due to deviated septum and sinus issues. So I end up mouth breathing which wakes me up and is horrible for your teeth since your mouth dries out from the cpap pressure. Chin strap I can’t stand sleeping with. I actually have that same exact mask you posted. It fits fantastic. Just can’t breathe well through my nose. Hopefully ent helps me out that will be the mask I keep using. For now I need a plain full face. My humidity control either leaves me with like painful dry mouth and throat. Or pools water. And I have a brand new resmed I got in may. After reading this thread I wore the thing all night last night despite waking up a few times I feel more rested. Might just need to suck it up.
