Sleep apnea

This is interesting as i am going to check on this soon, but for snoring, i thought you could just have some kinda laser tissue burning done for snoring and not have to wear the machine? Am i wrong?

Really never heard of that. I've known people who have had surgery due to a deviated septum that made them snore. Laser tissue burning doesn't really sound that fun.

Uhm you might be referring to the surgery for removing like the uvula idk.
There’s alternative type procedureslike that, as well as removing tonsils can help.
But there are side effects with things like removing your uvula, like difficulty swallowing and stuff like that. As well as no gag reflex (may be good for your girl though )

Funny you say that, I kind of have a slight deviation. But it’s pretty much covered up since I filled in my frame. Before it was pretty noticeable.
As well as slightly flared ribs that I’m trying to bring back in. With corrective exercises and such.
Flared ribs can mess with breathing too.

I'm getting tested for sleep apnea in about a month. They think that might explain some of the findings in my echo-cardiogram. There is a lot of good info on this thread. Thanks for posting up your experience guys.

Yeah...definitely keep us posted.

I got both my cpap machines off of craigslist for way cheaper than they would normally cost, felt like a million bucks after that first night using it.

Where can you buy one?

I'm about to die here.

I was pretty miserable until I got mine. Sleep apnea is considered 5 episodes of apnea or more per hour.
I did an at home sleep study and I was 66 per hour and would stop breathing for up to 74 seconds. The lady asked how I even functioned.

I’ve never seen an actual cpap machine on there, only accessories.
I’m not saying it doesn’t happen though.
Edit- I meant eBay, never tried craigslist

I still struggle with my cpap. No mask fits just right. My nose stuffs up when I put on the mask. Nasal mask fits ok but I mouth breathe so need a full face. Hopefully getting a new mask or getting my nose issues fixed soon. Like the other guy said I can sleep ten hours and still feel like dirt the next day. Or the machine pools condensation and drips it into my nose. That’s a nice wake up.

This one works great for me.

They gave me a small for some reason to start but I switched to a medium and it works great. Covers the mouth and fits up against nostrils so you can breathe from either.
Doesn’t your machine have humidity control?

How long have you had yours?.......I have the nasal pillows as well and it took some for me to used to it.....I would say about a week. Now I sleep like a baby.

You really need to have a sleep study. You can get a CPAP/BIPAP from Craigslist or Ebay, but if you don’t get it set up properly it won’t do you any good.
Seriously man you can die from this shit...either not wake up or from other ailments that are caused by apnea.

They said the surgery would not work for me. The machine gives me anxiety sometimes but has slowly got better.

Besides all the waking up the sleep study reviled that I had excessive arousals. No wonder that sleep doctor is always smiling at me. Lol

I don't think you can actually die from Sleep Apnea. Where are the bodies?. I had a sleep study test years ago and I didn't have it. However it was at least 10 years ago. My Dad has Sleep Apnea. The sleep study was a real pain because I had to be hooked up to like 50 different leads connected to some machine. They put you in a room next to all the other rooms and you can hear all the other guys snoring. There is a camera pointed at the bed where they watch you in their control room. No way I'd go through all that again.
