Anyone with Protonmail , ever get a message asking to verify your account, I've gotten it.many times in the past.

And now have one saying final warning.., must click the link to (and log into ) to verify my identity or something to that effect, I suppose I could copy & paste the message & put here, or the next rung down from this.

Anyone...? Just doesn't seem right, as I thought that Proton was free, also I never gave up any card info, (I don't think..? ) In fact I'm quite certain.

Even created another, but have misplaced the password , or it's on my last {broken } phone.

I suspect Phishing, or Hacker, but I'm not E~mail // http: guru , or Wiz.

Thanks..!

Yeah it's a phishing scam. Definitely don't click on the link. Yes I've received a few of those emails. Just trash them and empty your trash.

Yes I get those to. Delete immediately. There is a thread about this already. Netflix is having this problem also. People are getting scammers asking for info. Netflix already has your info why would they be asking for it? If anything changes you go in and change it. These companies don’t know if you need to change anything only you know. They don’t need to ask for shit.

I have had a protonmail for over a year, I have set up an e-mail account as free and I have not received a link yet for account verification. In fact, all e-mail account verification messages have always been deleted from my other mailboxes, but I have never had such a message on protonmail. Thanks for the info at least when this message will come I will trash this. I thought the proton is free from phishing

Don't do it my man. I sometimes receive similiar emails/messages through Tutanota. I contacted Tutanota Admin(obviously not through the link provided) and questioned the legitimacy of the emails. Its all phishing...hackers trying to gain access to your account.

If there is any doubt contact admin department.

Yea it's a scam, if you look at where the email came from it will be an address not associated with proton mail, sometimes a weird email address and other times it will have proton mail in the email address but it will have a dot somewhere in it and the suffix isn't a .com or anything like that it's like .eureka or something. I never click them just straight to trash.

Thanks

Yes be very careful brother...there's a lot of scams going around. Today my mom told me she got this email from her bank saying her account needed verification. I told her not to click that link and to save the email for me to check out. Sure enough when I checked it it was indeed fake so I trashed it for her. Makes my blood boil to see even elderly falling for these scams

MotorCityMadness, Mindless is calling you "Elderly".

Yep. I've received several of them on Proton Mail. Also emails trying "confirm my package delivery."

Never used to get them on Proton Mail before recently.

I’ve gotten at least 20-30 fishing emails and they look like proton customer service . Always write them separate . On other forums been 100s fishing reported
