Hey Gents make sure u check and confirm proton emails with the actual address sending them. I recently sent over $400 to 2 different sources for gear with bitcoin and bitched both out when my shit didnt arrive. It wasnt their fault. Someone hacked my email and actually was able to enter the email chain and give bitcoin addys which went to them instead. Names were the same. Same email chain. The little email addy below them were different but because it was the same chain email I never thought to check. Sucks being out of the shit I needed for my run so hopefully everyone else learns from my F up. Looks like ill be natty for a bit lol. I do owe an apology to 2 guys on a different forum and Ill make that happen. I have no problem admitting when I was wrong. Learn from my mistake gents.

I get all sorts of messages on proton about my last chance and from all sorts of places saying they are other places but they have Yahoo and other mail, secret eurica... lol!!
I delete them all. Never hit a link or respond to these fake hackers....

I can see how easy it can happen. I block all notifications from proton so I don't bump on accident and I lock screen to not open with any notification from anything.

A few years back screen was opening up to notifications and new phone. Only option without unlocking screen was emergency calls. I accidentally called 9.. 3x in one week. Last time they were on way to GPS location and saw they had been calling for 10 minute back. Was last at job on call. Wouldn't have looked good no matter what if caravan came to my job!!!

I locked everything down because of error. My security on device allows to stay open in my presents. I locked all down to manual unlock only. Since then no 9.. and no more texts to wife in a language not yet discovered from pocket bumping ....

Take note of this alot of devices have unlock security in your presents, my active phone does, this can cause these problems

I always get those messages on proton also. First thing I do is check the email address That sent it, usually you can tell right away it’s spam. I usually will just spam folder those messages almost immediately. I have forwarded it to ProtonMail help and they will reply if it’s spam or not, but usually will just spam it asap

There are some really sneaky phishing systems. The displayed address looks the same, you have to get deeper into the details to see small differences. I remember the provider showing some emails recently. People thought they were emailing him. They had posted that they sent him an email on the open board (never do this) and the scammers sent them a list pretending to be the source.

I get these spam messages and straight to the trash bin they go.
