What do you guys do for work

Retired 0317. Devil Dogs will know what that is, for those less familiar Scout Sniper. Now I lift, lift and lift. I spend my leisure time either at the gym, or at the range. I help a friend of mine who runs a hunting expedition company when he has big clients that must have a kill to feel good about themselves by stalking them and taking out big game like elk and bear when the bill payer shoots like shit. I leave them with that I did something special sensation by letting them think they took out big game. Yes it is a sham job, but these execs pay my friend well and my compensation is quite worthwhile. We use micro cams and mics while he coaches them to a kill lol.

I'm 49 and still don't know if I wanna be a cowboy, a fireman or an astronaut lol...
I'm currently living in a long term rehab for the last 14mnths and at the point where I'm looking for work. The problem is I don't want to stay here in NYC. The jobs out there, the ones I've seen so far, are basic minimum wage. I really wanna go back to Jersey and find some work, possibly stay with a few friends until either I find something that I can afford to live on my own or go back to landscaping which is pretty decent money.
I wasted so many years out there either running the streets or trying to clean up my act that I never took the time to learn a trade or a skill. The only things I know are being in law enforcement, which I haven't since 97, and laborious jobs like commercial roofing, basic construction, laborer, etc...
My original plan when I 1st came here last Nov was to get my personal trainers cert and start my own consultation business...don't know what it is that's stopping me. That little voice in the back of my head telling me "nah you'll never get there" or "you don't deserve it" is so loud and clear at times that it's driving me crazy.
Sorry for the rant or highjack...just needed to vent a little lol.

Beef! Thanks for what you do, I have a strong genetics of these diseases in my family and it will break your heart when someone close cant remember those special moments in life.

the part I love bout it is when I'm not working n at some NYC landmark n see my work kinda makes me feel good some ppl don't even know what it took to get it done

I know what you mean, its a great feeling to look up and say "Damn, that wasn't there before I built it." I always feel like an ant on the job site but when its done, at least I'm a proud ant. Cutting corners drives me crazy too, a 10 Million dollar structure and they will just leave some open sore like its no big deal when it would take almost no time different if it had just been done properly. I swear in the masonry business we spend more time tearing shit down and fixing it than if we had just taken the time and done it well first off. Everything is subcontracted under larger companies so its hard for anyone to care because nobody working on it gets any credit, it all goes to
