Strained bicep

Hello guys, a couple weeks back I have had my first injury since starting my cycle. I managed to strain my left biceps while doing underhanded barbell rows with 185lbs. My right hand slipped off and I tried to grab the bar again but missed and all the weight was on my left arm. Felt my elbow dislocate (but it popped back in) and then pain. Dropped the bar immediately and noticed my left bicep was not feeling right but it did respond to movement, so I went home to ice it down and then some heat.

Anyone ever have this issue and the best workarounds so that I can keep training?

Have you tried over hand stuff since?

I've done standing overhead press today with just the bar as a test and pain is minimal now but once I add weight I do start feeling some pain but not as much as a week ago. Also done overhand bent over barbell rows and that hand position brings some pain but also not as bad today. I can rotate my left wrist with some difficulty. Hopefully I can get this healed up quick so as not to set back my cycle too much.

My answer to all types of strains is graston even if its not the problem we all develop scar tissue mobility issues over the years of training. Just had elbow and shoulder done hurt like a bitch but already feeling alot better20170208_204932.jpg20170208_134214.jpg

49ER, I will definitely look into graston for my shoulders and maybe for my strained bicep too. Will ask my chiro about it.

Your shoulders look quite solid still!

Also got this done lol actually helps alot my chiro has the good ones that actually catch the muscle bellies and stretch them out

No where near graston hurts bad the cupping only hurts when he has you stretch a certain way my erector is pretty strained so it hurt a little

I see your chiro really put you thru the wringer lol...but the results must been worth it. Hopefully you'll be right as rain so you can get ready for nationals!

Yes Bro and work around it if it causes mild pain its okay but dont allow mild pain with super heavy weight...If it causes uncomfortable pain dont do it..and try to find ways to get blood pumped in there pain free...If you find an exercise that does that keep doing sets of 20 or higher will rehab it much
