Anyone have a preference or use either of these? Leaning towards the Ryderware D-Maks since there offering a bogo50 deal right now.

If you want just flat soled grippy shoes, I'd say skip the overrated Otomix and look at some Asics Matflex. I have the series 2 and 3's and I believe they are the best DL shows on the market. If you want squat or oly shoes, look at the Romaleo's and Adipowers. I have both and feel the Romaleo 2's are the better of the two. Of course these are just my recommendations and I'm sure others will chime in with their own.

I like Adidas Powerlift. Also tried and like Rogue Do-Wins. Adidas Powerlift 3 are the ones I currently wear. They are on sale right now for $74.95 and free shipping. Can't beat that!. Just don't get to tall of a heal height and you should be fine. I'd never get over .75.

Otomix just look like crap to me. Too much cushion, like a running sneaker or something. If I'm lifting weights I'm gonna wear weightlifting shoes. Not gonna wear wrestling shoes either.

Cat, if I absolutely had to choose between those 2 brands though I'd go with the Ryderware. The Raptors G-Force look ok. However they still look like they have way too much cushion. Not good for lifting.

Appreciate it kins and hwntime, think I'm going the ryderware route as well. The new d-maks look most appealing to me since there isn't much cushioning and it's a completely flat sole. I have romaleos and some asics already, just trying to switch it up a bit.

I don't know. Just looks like it's gonna be "squishy" and no ankle strap on that one. If I could have one designed I have a 1/4 inch heel(hard, no cushioning at all), ankle and metatarsal support straps.

If anyone could find me something like this online, that would be awesome.

The Asics Matflex series is the flattest you'll get on any shoe, period. It's about 6-7mm off the floor. It almost feels like deadlift sandals.

Yup, those are the ones! Remember, you have to order a half size up minimum. They fit small and in some cases, you may have to go a whole size up. I wear an 11 in Nike and both my Matflex's are 11.5.

Yeah those aren't too bad, these are the Ryder's:

A bit more flat and stable looking imo

Not wrestling. I bet they are great for their purpose though.

Don't knock it till you try it bro. I'm telling you, I've been a competitive powerlifter for 4 years and during that time, I used them almost exclusively for training.

Now look at the design of these Ryder's and compare them to the Asics. Notice the similarities? I wouldn't doubt it if they used the Asics as a base to model their shoe after. The Matflex's have been around for over a decade. Look around the internet and read reviews from powerlifters across the country using the Matflex. Great thing is the Asics will run you $40-$60.
