Got my gyno surgery coming up in the near future. I’m meeting with my surgeon in a few weeks.

I’ve been doing a lot of research about post gyno surgery recovery... and to my surprise it seems a lot harder than I thought it would be.
Seems like a majority of people have drains put in... and a compression vest is worn for at least a month minimal.

Obviously exercise/weightlifting is going to be off the table for a little while. What I’m worried about most is missing work.. I work a physical construction job and cannot afford to miss work for extended periods of time.

If you have had gyno surgery can you please share with me your recovery process?..
How long were you out of the gym? How was the pain? And how long did it take you to fully recover and get back to training.

I had the surgery done years ago. I had to wear the 'compression vest' as you call it for 6 weeks after surgery. Your going to need to take take off at least a week or two after the surgery from work. My surgeon didn't even want my heart rate elevated at all. The pain wasn't too bad only lasted the first couple weeks.

Its worth it though man. One of the best 'hard' decisions I've made. I stayed out of the gym for the 6 weeks that my doc told me to. Plastic surgery is nothing to play with follow your surgeons instructions.

Damnnnnnn 6 weeks ! How bad was the gyno ??

Nothing crazy. Really think only someone looking for it would notice it. I dont remember the exact numbers but I wanna say he got out ~ 60 cc of 'fat/gyno' from one side and ~ 40 cc out of the other.

Only negative is at certain angles you can see a slight concave area right behind the nipple. The more muscular my chest gets ( my weakest body part) the less you can see it. My current gf says she can't tell at all but she always tells me I'm ridiculous with how I judge myself and look great no matter my body fat so not very objective source...

I'm not sure the extent of the gyno makes a big difference with recovery either. I have a local friend who's was way worse then mine and his recovery time was about the same as mine.

How much did they quote you? Mine was 5k cash price here in Houston...

Mines being covered by insurance! My doctor set it up. Contacted my insurance company and explained in detail that I was experiencing extreme pain an needed the surgery ASAP.

My gyno came out of nowhere ...my trt doc adjusted the dose without ever prescribing me an AI ..I had a bad flare up and lumps developed within the week. Hurt sooooo bad!

Damn that's badass man. Nice job on getting the insurance to cover it. That's a rare thing from what I've seen in most gyno cases.

Yeah it pretty awesome. It’s due to the pain aspect. My doctor said it would be covered due to the fact that it’s not for aesthetic’s or Appearance. It’s to stop the pain from tissue growth.

He says more people would have it covered if their doctors did the same approach with insurance companies as he did.

He was right.

I'm thinking of having it, not horrible gyno, but if I can get insursnce to cover, why not.... Thanks for the info.

My insurance covered it. Twice. It's considered a precancerous mass. My doctor did a really good job but had never heard of using a compression vest. He specializes in breast cancer removal. He bandaged me up tightly and that came off in a week. I had to get it done a second time but it wasn't actually gyno that time. I found a compression vest that time at a plastic surgery clinic. I still only wore it for a week. It was small firm fatty deposits that formed a couple of years after the first surgery in the exact spots that the gland was removed from. My doctor said he'd never seen it before but it was no problem. I wasn't fat either, I've never been fat actually, I'm lucky that way. It may have had something to do with my peptide or hormone use.
