How many of you guys do a planned rest week every so often?

I'm currently doing one...although it wasn't really planned lol. I got Strept throat and have to go out of town for business.

I don't think I could stay out of the gym for a full week, I'd go crazy!! This summer if it gets super busy I'll probably be doing a couple days a week tho. I do deload weeks though where I just don't go as hard

Some routines have plan Deload weeks ... I never got that... Everyone is different and not every one need a rest after 5x5 with 85%. lol... I just go by how I feel if I follow I program written by a "guru" I take some of their ideas and some of others and add my own in as well...

I always plan on resting one or two weeks a year on vacation but it never happens. Go to Mexico and drink tequila all day and night. still manage to make it for upper body hung over as all, liquor shooting out my pours.

I never do a planned rest week, but once in a while shit happens (like this week I am down with the flu), so I just save off time for the unexpected...

I wouldn't say planned. But there are times when my body is very fatigued and I take time off for a few days to a week.

If u rest ur body will recover and get stronger . If u don't u will be stuck at a pint and never over come it just,in my opinion. Also helps u refocus and go back harder. The older I get u we will more of a benefit to the rest. But resting can help prevent injury also .Rest is just as important as diet ,gear and exercise .
