Ya, November I'm competing NPC in Grand Rapids Michigan. I'm not gonna lie, at first I considered bikini, I mean Men's physique. Only cuz 4 months ago I had my spine fused together. "Blew out C4-7"
I was in the hospital for 3 weeks and was told I had to 3 months before I could go in the and train "light"
Well, I was back in the gym in 10 weeks. I did start training light. Only reason I considered bikini is cuz I really couldn't train my legs.
My recovery is going great. I'm actually squatting and doing heavy leg press. Kickers are working great too.
I'm definitely not doing bikini. Body building all the way. I'm 8 months out. This is the last event of the season too. It's gonna have a big turn out. Competitors from Illinois, Indiana, Canada, flint, Detroit, Muskegon and of course Grand Rapids. This is my first show and strictly for fun and a learning curve. I really wanna see my physique change dramatically.

Bodybuilding scene in general is in the toilet, the money just isn't there, there are more shows now more than ever but the money and sponsors fell off big time. Christ it seems like they are giving pro cards to anyone anymore.

Hell, bet even Jason Genova can get a pro card easy peasy...go figure

I don't have any experience competing, but I do know from the few shows I've gone to see, the bodybuilding category seems to ahve fewer and fewer competitors in it.
