For the last month and a half I’ve been training completely different than I have in years. I’m getting older, pretty beat up and wanted to try something different. I’ve been training 3 times a week T,th,sat. I pick 3 exercises a session and lift for an hour. Usually 5-6 sets per exercise. No isolation movements at all. I feel great, not as beat up and recovering well. Wife thinks I look great but she’s biased. Just thought I’d share. If you’re in a rut maybe try this.

Thats awesome my friend. I share your sentiments as well. Some days it seems like it get harder and h to get harder to get there. I like to train first thing in the AM....if fact I just got back from cardio...and I seem to find a new ache or pain almost every morning...lol...but it seems to go away after the blood gets goin'. I like havin' the feeling of getting something done to start my day. I train a little differently than you but it seems to work for me. Anyways...keep up the hard work and if you ever need some encouragement we are all here ta help.

I just needed something different. Been doing this since mid 80s and wanted to try something different. Nothing fancy, just compound movements. Days I don’t lift I try to walk 3 miles. I’m very pleased with how it’s going. Am training is the best. Get up and get shit done

If you’re looking for a total shake up look into DC style training. It’s 3 days a week also.

I’ve done it in the past, pretty brutal with the lift to failure and deep stretching. Got great results from it

I did too. On paper it doesn’t look like shit with one working set but I was spent after the workout

Great my man. Glad things are goin' well. Your right....you need to change things up or your just going to plateau. Shocking your body and muscles by changing routine and cardio efforts are the best way to put your body into hypertrophy and optimal fat loss.

This may sound rediculous but my neighbor had talked up Body Beast (ya by that trendy bs company) some much that I finally bit. I have to admit that I love the workouts. Yep. Ill admit it. Give it a go man. Itll wear ya out.

BEEF (that felt so good to say lol). Smart of you to change up your routine so you don't remain static. For me switching from heavy weights low reps to LIGHT weight 15-25 reps is better for my old age but I am not trying to get huge. 185 10%BF is g2g for me which means I need to go to gym lol.
