A keto diet is well known for being a low carb diet, where the body produces ketones in the liver to be used as energy. It’s referred to as many different names – ketogenic diet, low carb diet, low carb high fat (LCHF), etc.
When you eat something high in carbs, your body will produce glucose and insulin.


  • Glucose is the easiest molecule for your body to convert and use as energy so that it will be chosen over any other energy source.
  • Insulin is produced to process the glucose in your bloodstream by taking it around the body.

Since the glucose is being used as a primary energy, your fats are not needed and are therefore stored. Typically on a normal, higher carbohydrate diet, the body will use glucose as the main form of energy. By lowering the intake of carbs, the body is induced into a state known as ketosis.

I've always wondered what makes sure that your body utilizes ketons to produce energy, and not aminoacids...
Also will it work if used every other day?

An eod keto diet? I think you'd be better off carb cycling. Takes a couple days for a good strong ketosis to start. I think you'd be miserable.

Get some pee sticks and try it, maybe it'll work for you

I have been on a keto diet for 10 days. I feel amazing and the food is great lol. I have gone from 205 to 196 and I don't think I have lost any muscle mass. Maybe a little strength but I'm sure that's because of the weight. Not to mention I have been natty for a few months now. Ugh..... But you cannot do eod because the carbs would take you right back out of ketosis. Check out jason wittrocks keto cycle and that is a pretty solid option of you want a carb day

I just started the jason wittrock keto cycle. I kind of dig the carb day. I know it takes you out of ketosis but within a day I am right back in. With no intentions of competing again this year this seems to be a great way to stay super lean but maintain lean muscle. I am def in love with keto. Plus bacon and hot dogs and cheese..... Come on. This shit is great lol
 
Keto is always my go to diet when I need to drop some bodyfat. I always feel great once I get into ketosis and energy is always high, especially in the heat. Ive done standard, cyclical and targeted keto. CKD is what I always end up gravitating back too after a month or two though

Same diet I used to get super lean. It's also easy to maintain because it's so simple to follow.

Keto works great for me. Legit lost 10lbs in a month.
I quit to run a test/tren on bulking cycle, but am going to finish up with about 8 wks test/var while doing the keto with 1-2 carb days on the weekends.
The food was hard to get used to as far as hidden carbs kicking u out of ketosis. But once u get down to biz it rocks. Can’t wait to eat bacon every day again.
Get some ketone salts and take right after carb day. I would be back into ketosis the very next day!
 
Ketone salts? Never used them. Just a supp you buy?

Yea there are all kinds but I use Bpi brand Keto Amino’s
Was outa stock on bb.com so I found it on eBay.
It’s great cause if u slip up and have a few to many carbs or beers then it will get u right back in ketosis
 
keto is the only way for an endo like me to get truly ripped.....and every sunday I do a cheat usually a big chipotle steaj burrito with rice and everything .....it seems to only speed up the fat loss, within 3 days im getting even leaner than before
