I don't know how many brothers I have that are into sick fast street cars...but Dodge just unveiled the new srt Demon. I am a chevy person, but Chevy and Ford have their work cut out for them. The Demon has 840 hp at the crank, and 770 lb ft of torque!!! What will that get you (besides in trouble)? 9.65@140mph...straight from the factory!!!

They are an awesome looking car. Only bad thing is dealers will probably throw on a $10,000 over msrp second sticker. I just watched youtube video stating over 1,000 hp with special tune and race gas.
 
They are a purpose built car from the factory...can't see many people with one of these. Definitely your Friday, Saturday, Sunday driver. But dang it's fast!

chevy already has a car to blow the doors off the "demon" its called the "Exorcist" 1000hp Chevy Camaro ZL1 (game over) it however is $120k that sucks..
 
The Exorcist is an aftermarket tuner car by Hennessey performance in Texas. And yes it would probably outrun the Demon. More hp and less weight = faster. I am impressed because the Demon is a car straight from the factory. Besides being 40k cheaper.

It's bad ride that's for sure !! I have a 99 trans am with a LS3 in it only puts bout 650 and its a monster so 840 with upgraded tech is just bad ass !!

What do you mean you haven't heard of the new Camaro exorcist it's got 1000 hp! It's bad ass
 
It handles like a boat, it a straight line car only so it's in its own race, cars the corvette, ford gt, moved into the exotic section cause they do it all, hell the corvette beats everything in the skid pad, I'm waiting to see the new zr1.
 
I own a challenger and at that its a supercharged srt-8 and is running nitto drag radials, car is super fun and very fast its a drag car a street mod drqg car to be exact. after the second engine I wish I had a warranty so I give Dodge credit where its due the car is easily the fastest straight line car from the big three ever produced. I mean it pulls wheelies from the factory. But thats all its good for a tire eating panty dropping hemi. I would really like to see a production model of the jeep grand cherokee with a hellcat motor now an all wheel drive 700 hp suv ....... that would be insane

They just announced the grand cherokee "trackhawk" last week. It's happening, probably only for 1 yr. I have a gt500, 540hp stock, about 600 now, very fun.

Yes the Demon is a purpose built street/strip car...nobody at Dodge claimed different. I just think a true 9-second car from the factory is pretty cool. I myself am a diehard chevy fan. I think Chevy hit the ball out of the park with the new ZL1 Camaro. It can do it all. It will take a smaller pulley on the supercharger, full length exhaust, cam and a new tune before it will compete with the Demon in a straight line though. The ZL1 is a pretty good value at 63k...11.5 1/4 mile, and lays waste to most euro cars on the track. Pretty tough car in my books. I'm sure someone will drop 10-15k and mod the ZL1 and it will run low nines all day. Great times we are living in!

I think my next one is going to be a 2013 vette. Small supercharger and little gear change for the best of both worlds .
 
I have seen some bad ass cadillacs at the strip that look like a family car with a few mods run 6.30s in the 1/8.Hell they are all competing and it's getti g insane what there doing.
