Anyone in the woods these days?

I used to go before I got busy w kids and work. My kids aren't ready and I'd honestly prefer to shoot steel targets....... Maybe a Rambo kill is what I need!

There have been some monster bucks put down this week by young kids out with their experienced fathers........ I got two pics this am from friends.

I'm in the same boat man.. love to hunt! But with young kids, work, and the gym I just don't have the time.

Yea big archery hunter here, have been for the past 3 yrs, hunting since I was a kid, for you name it and family loves venison, so the wife makes sure Im able to get out a couple few hours at a time at least twice a week. Still hunt with shotgun, rifles etc, but I wanted a bit more of a challenge, so archery fits that bill.. I usually only hunt from ground blinds I'll make branches leaves logs twine camo burlap netting. Harder than chilling in a tree, but fun as hell. First year I went out, I hadn't got over the adrenaline whenever a deer would be within 35yrds heart was just slamming, breath was all fucked up, didn't do great the first year, lol just kept shooting and practicing and the next year, last year, was able to bag a decent 6pointer, this year took a 4to5yr old doe about 2 weeks before shotgun season opened in early nov, i have one more tag here to fill but haven't been out for a while now. Bucks have been out everywhere again since rut is in full swing here so I should get my ass out and see if i get lucky

They are in full rut here in KY. I've never seen them so blinded by it. Hanging out in people's back yards in broad daylight.

It's been a crazy season thus far. Lots of folks doing well.

Gun season takes a lot out of the hunt.

Last time I went, I took an AR, slept most of the day, and ended up passing on the deer that followed me out of the woods at dusk. I took a knee and video'd her walking by.

I've got a G40 that would be fun to use. Some 10mm Underwood 155gr HP at 1500fps......

Your right this year has been really really good. The bucks at least in this area are also really blinded this year. Just complete idiots which is the first time in several years they are so goofy. Not hating it though. I filled my tag before the gun season, gun season always takes a couple few weeks to bounce back alittle from. Thinking about having my wife pick up a tag so we can nab one more before the end of December anyways. I've never used an ar to hunt deer before, we are in a zone that is shotgun, so I grew up using 12 and 20g for deer hunting. Up north is rifle.. but that would be fun for sure as well.

I hunt and kill da fuck out of paper but nothing with a beating heart yet. My dream/goal is to be self sufficient living on many acres far away from humans with ocean front property, but not sure if my wife and son would follow lol. BUt for now lack of time only allows me to shoot subsonic .22lr in my backyard or garage or play "clear house" w/ badguys (son's toys) in front of a solid backstop and nobody home lol without any lights on...I don't need white light to see in the dark. I just need abient light from stars/moon/ufo or from IR.

Bow is my next trajectory device when I have some spare time to research what to get so that means NEVER lol.

I hunt everything. Filled all my deer tags this season. 1 buck 2 doe. Used my .243 dropped em where they stood all about shot placement they dont go far with a big hole in their heart. Also bow hunt and use a recurve bow with a reel for bow fishing carp in the spring time.
