Assholes at Coinbase closed my account because according to an email, "Upon careful review, we believe your account has engaged in prohibited use in violation of our Terms of Service" So is Coinbase the new moral police nazis or what?
Anyone else have this problem? I moved what was left in my account to another wallet but I need another source to buy from. Any suggestions? Why does this have to be so damn complicated????? What a pain in the ass.

Thanks in advance,

Oldtimer

That's "One" reason I try my damndest to stick with CIM if
Possible. Occasionally W2wal, MG , WU. But the latter two have their fair share of snags, or they try to look up your ass with a microscope.

One thing, did you pay any sources directly from Coinbase? That would raise red flags. Better to transfer enough coin to another wallet to pay your source.

I paid out of Coinbase, I didn't know there were other ways to do this.

Well lesson learned as there's a lot of info about how to transfer coin to other wallets outside of Coinbase and using those wallets for paying your sources. Coinbase has been cracking down hard lately, and is just as bad as WU/MG.

Crypto currency confuses me. I feel like its just a matter of time before the government makes them release all info "for tax purposes"

That day is closer than you think as the feds are hard at work developing new regulations for crypto currencies which will expose people to the tax man.

Those utilizing the major exchanges are the ones who will be fucked with. If your bitcoin/altcoins sit on an exchange, and funds or transfers indicate $15k or above, those will be the first to receive notice of any IRS mob harrassment. Basically, those who have $15k and above on an exchange, and those who sell their coins through their bank account for national currency, are at risk. If you keep your coins in cold storage/offline, or a non exchange wallet and simply hodl, or use them for peer to peer (wallet to wallet), then you're pretty much 99.9% clear of IRS mob bullshit.

I am in the same boat as you. By no means a crytpo expert, but i have been investing in it via Coinbase for a little over a year, also with the intention of using it going fwd to purchase from sponsors. I knew that looked at activity but they are way over the top. I have not sent one payment via their wallet yet ( i am afraid they will close my account), but i did move $20 BTC to my localbitcoin wallet a few weeks ago for a trail run. Weekk later i got a email saying they were limiting the amount of BTC i can send outto 1K because of "suspicious" activity? I sent $20 dollars worth andthey charged me $5?? Is there any safe "exchanges" we can use to purchase and send from without these ridiculous Nazi oversights? I also found that just sending from coinbase wallet to localbitcoin wallet cost more fees, i mean, its not really a smart investment anymore with it stabalizing in price.

I honestly thought using BTC would make purchases with sponsors 1000x easier bit its actually becoming far more complicated and time consuming then the old ways.

A while ago, I spent some time trying - unsuccessfully - to wrap my head around bitcoin. I, Too, thought it would be easier than the traditional methods. I'm happy now that I never did start to use it. Well, other than as an investment vehicle. I sure missed that boat. But I still don't really "get it", anyway....
