I've tried other ones, but the only one that has all the features I need is Coinbase. Yeah it's a pain because it takes a week or more after buying the bitcoin before I can actually use it, but oh well. I suppose you could just always keep some money on there for when you do need to order something.

I agree. Coinbase has its pros and cons. But the best feature is the option to put your money in the USD wallet. So you don’t buy 300 bucks of bitcoin and have the volatility a day later and be left with 250 to send. Always let the funds clear in the USD wallet prior to buying bitcoin. Could take a week or more. Always buy bitcoin after the funds clear otherwise you will be exposed to losing money. Only buy the bitcoin when you are ready to send to the recipient.

Ok that's good to know. I was just buying the bitcoin and having to wait for it to be available. Wiser to buy USD credit first, which you still have to wait for... then buy/send the Bitcoin when you need it.

Is there a way to purchase other than these bitcoin atm's? Like a website?

Thanks

But, it so volatile your $300 could also be $400 in a few days.

Get an account with coin base for purchasing and also set up a mycelium account to conduct transfers, coin base watches accounts closely and it's much safer to send btc from mycelium.

I like localbitcoins.com. I purchase from other vendors and in goes right into wallet.

Just a FYI, I transferred some btc from coinbase ( under $100 )to mt local Bitcoin wallet and coinbase dropped my purchasing limit to like 50 bucks a week for a few months. No issues transferring to mycelium though.

Yes CB is wising up to those tactics, but mycelium or electrum wallets they lose the trail as these are offline wallets. For someone real paranoid I'd use paper wallets (which can be merely a text file that holds the keys and addies to your coins).

I for one is still skittish about bitcoin right now.
