Im 3 days into a 5 day fast and man I have never felt this good.....the energy and alertness are amazing. One would assume you would be low energy and dragging but it's the exact opposite....I haven't felt this good since I was a kid and im not even joking. And im not even hungry I feel like I could do this forever lol. I felt I needed a good cleanse of my body and mind and stumbled upon one of Thomas DeLauer's you tube videos about fasting and said fuck it ill give it a try and im glad I did....I also get the feeling this is going to break the fat-loss platuea i've been in for weeks now.

Of course its not ideal for building muscle but with a cc of dred's test/tren/mast every day I dont think i've lost any muscle. All 5 days I am just doing light cardio first thing in the morning for an hour.....no weights this week. I will re-feed on sunday very slowly only lean protein and good fats as to stay in a ketogenic state.

Curious to hear if others have done this and found it very enjoyable and healing? Like I said not ideal in a muscle building stage but thrown in every few months seems like would be a great idea....re-sets insulin levels too which is always good.

I haven’t done prolonged but I have done IF and Keto with IF and saw great results both times. The hardest part is mentally getting over the fact that you’re only eating during x amount of hours. I did an 18/6 last time and ate my first my meal after the morning gym session at 7 and finished with my last feed at 1. It’s great for autophagy and fatloss. You should try it with keto if you really want to drop the bodyfat. I’m pretty lean year round but this got me a lot leaner without any drugs (I was on test 250/wk).

I include a 48hr fast (water/electrolytes only) each week following my cheat day.
Other days of the week often include upward of 18hr intermittent.

I always got low blood sugar. Been borderline hypoglycemia since a kid. I was told never to miss a meal. Had a couple sezures as a result over the years.

I get intense headache and shaky hands with profusely sweating and flushing in face. I always have glyco water or Skittles with me.

I can only carb cycle my body just doesn't allow me to do fasting....

I ended up fasting for 4 and 1/2 days. I definitely broke through my weight loss stall. Went a bit overboard on my re-feed day and ate some things I shouldn't have but all in all I feel great and even the junk I ate seems to have just been sucked up by the muscles.

Noticeably weaker but the actual size of the muscles did not shrink I don't think. The end of 4 days is when I started to notice any hunger at all the 3 days prior I wasn't even hungry and had limitless energy. I may try 5 days again here soon. The re-feed days after breaking a fast are crucial and I want to nail it next time.

I kind of got side tracked a bit on the fast because I had to travel to northern Michigan to pick up a Harley. I was so excited that my mind wasn't focusing on the fast I just wanted that bike lol. After getting the bike I kind of "celebrated" so thats why I ate a few things I shouldn't have but all in all I am happy with the results. I do believe it gave my body a new set point of leanness and definitly helped my insulin sensitivity.

Great to hear. Would you do it again? Was there any noticeable fat loss?

I was stuck at 180 for weeks....on day 3 of the fast I was 175 and before I broke it I was 172. Right now I am 177 but my glycogen stores are full so id say atleast a good 5 pounds if not more of fat loss.

That’s crazy. I have been playing with fasting for the past couple months. If and keto. Did a bunch of 24hr fasts. By far the quickest I’ve dropped fat, especially since I do not have as much time for workouts as I used to. Feels like I haven’t done much cardio. But all in all I think there is a lot of merit to this. One thing is for sure, not optimal for progressive training. I haven’t done much more than 24hrs, so I will be trying that at some point soon!

I've been doing long fasts for the last 2 yrs. Prob 3 months at a time. great for all of the reasons you mentioned above. I love it. I feel great, and it is easy. There are time when a 20 hour fast for 3-4 days couple times a month really help with getting past the sticking point. I was stuck at 200 for a while 4 days 20 ish hour fasts in a row bang 195. Right now not fasting.
