anyone else have project cars?

I just went and got me 53 buick super. drove 2750 miles in 38 hours to go get it this past weekend. excited to get started on it, its been a looong time since ive had my own project to work on. plan is to get it running, feel it out, then rip it apart. its def a long term project, no hurry. will be more of a hotrod/restomod when I get done. I'm thinking it will end up being a dark grey with black trim.

anyone elso got cool projects?

That's pretty cool. I remember I got a 72 Olds Cutless Supreme in High School. It ran great and I tore the thing apart. Plan was to rebuild it, even though it didn't need it at all because I was a stupid punk kid. Ended up selling it for less than half of what I paid for it.

been there. got my first old car in high skool also, 68 old cutless convertible. drove it to florida when I moved here, rearend went out, sold it dirt cheap.

NICE!!! I used to be in cars but I was trying to get a damn rice (1998 Integra Type R w/ 420 as as authentication number) rocket to compete with stock mustang 5.0 and I could've bought couple used one for all the money I spent. Then I came back from seahawk game to broken window and all they stole were my emblems and my replaceable #420...and this was before I knew what 420 meant lol. But within couple weeks, I woke up from car accelerating and grabbed my glock b/c I was cool and tryied to chase them down lol. Thank goodness I didn't fire a single shot...but I have STUPIDLY felt I had to fire shots in sky to make my point when bunch of punk as ganster wannabe spit on my car for reason so it was ON! 2 cares were behind me while my wife was saying just get the fuck outta hear, but fuck that..... I signaled and slowed down so they could follow me...and LMAO a skinny ass dude took his shirt off running at my car until POP POP and they all fled to their momma lol.

Don't make stupid mistakes... go home. don't let pride get in way of potentially living rest of your life in jail. (shit if that happens now, they would've heard 556 SBR w/ attached suppressor...still loud as fuck without ear protection, but manageable lol. Or I'll just blind them with my high power IR laser...look whos laughing when they can't see next day....then I grew the fuck up and will go home and fuck pride.

that's crazy. I used to be Honda guy. loved my 2000 civic, last setup made 463whp. but then it broke again, and I parted it out. never wanted to add up all the money I had into it. to depressing. it was funny, I loved my Honda but hated 99% of all other Honda drivers.

lol, last sentence is so true...and asians can't drive worth shit, me included lol. Not sure why but I have a hard time driving straight. 100% buck sober and I'd slowly hit left turtles and then right turtles and then left lol. I swear I am holding steering wheel straight lol.

holy shit...463whp off a civic is INSANE. Trust me, I can imagine how much time and money was spent. Eventually only reason why its a civic is because of shell lol. I did get a chance to race at local raceway "rice rocket challenge". I was so scared and nervous. 1st run, I went from 1st gear to 2nd to 3rd then back to 2nd gear lmao. I kept gas entire time and had a shorter shift thingy as its supposed to allow you to move thru gears faster (if done correctly). My fastest 1/4 in type R w/ basic upgrades (exhaust & air filter) was mid 14s. I am fine with street racing because I was jacked up on xtc, but sober at a track caused major stress...kinda like shooting with a timer. Took care in dealership next day and forgot to whip the marking on my tires so guy knew right away but everything was ok.

then one day I was on a drive with my girlfriend/wife and a lowered neon wanted to race so why not lol...and eventually he waived me to follow him....so I did lol...and he took me to large parking area with red cones!!!! Lets say I couldn't complete 1 lap without knowing which cone to go between lol. Yes, we walked the track first but that still didn't help me. so 2nd and 3rd runs where with another driver to help guide me. That was one of the funniest legal experience of my life.

i look back now at all the stooped shit ive done behind the wheel, and amazed I never got into any real trouble. the last setup was a fully built and sleeved b18c1(gsr motor), made 463@18lbs of boost. never got to race it, valve broke and destroyed the head. so parted it out and got a 06 wrx. that was a awesome car. went everywhere, from the beach to mudbogs to the track. never got stuck, never broke, lol. but sadly, I was fucked up then, and it got repoed.

Damn not trying to bring up an on thread but I just sold my lexus sc300 2jz single turbo. Obviously all supporting mods built engine. Kaaz 2 way lsd. Lots of other crap. Loved loved loved that car I want it back. At its best it was close to 700hp when I sold it it was only making 450. Left it with my tuner for months got it back all fucked.up.making less power and just didn't hvw the money anymore. About to start building a turbo LS... no clue what I wanna put it In yet. Maybe an older RX 7 or 240. Sorry to all the guys who are into American muscle! Lol but I absolutely love American v8's but loved my 2jz more than anything lol

In my area there's a guy with a turbo 2jz in a mustang and he hauls ass! He runs the same classes I do and he's a tight right for my nitrous big block Ford

My son and I are doing a 68 Barracuda. 512 BBM with EFI. I have built some crazy shit in the past owning a speed shop for 15 years. Now I enjoy riding my chopper with a 300 tire and a 127ci motor.
