I want to thank D-RED for inviting me over to check out the new board. I guess we're getting in on the ground floor here. I'm going to use an introduction I wrote recently since it was pretty thorough, I'll just edit it for some recent weight gain on cycle.
I'm in my late 30's, I'm about 6'2" and 225lbs. I've been lifting since I was 22. I had been popped by the Feds for weed and I was serving my sentence in Club Fed. I was 170 when I began and through hard work and lots more tuna than anyone should ever have to eat I got to 228 at my heaviest naturally. What I think is funny now is that at the time I felt like I wasn't really making good progress. Lol right?
I had a friend in prison that was a personal trainer and contest prep guy from Tampa. He really taught me how to work out and I credit him with most of my knowledge when it comes to lifting. I talked with him a lot about AAS and he gave me a foundation. I have since learned that a lot of his knowledge was incorrect. Bro-science at its worst really, but I don't hold it against him though. He got a lot right too.
I continued my research into AAS on the Internet when I was released. I waited until I was 28 before I cycled. Just testosterone for several years. Then I tried a little of a lot of different stuff, always pretty conservative in my dosages.
I went through a bad divorce from 2011-2013.I had a big setback in 2012. On my birthday I came home early to get my boat ready for the weekend because I was planning on taking my little boy out on it. I interrupted a burglary in progress. I was shot five times with a 9mm. Twice in the lower right leg, once in the left thigh(groin) just missing my left nut, once in the stomach, and once in the forehead to finish me off.
The two in the lower right leg exploded the tibia and fibia. I have a rod from my knee to my ankle, various plates and screws securing it. I had to have a cadaver bone to replace part of my tibia because it was gone completely for the bottom 8-10 inches. I still have to have pieces of copper jacket removed from my leg every few months.
The bullet in my groin was a through and through, a flesh wound really.
The one in the stomach went in just below the ribs and it's trajectory took it through part of my colon because I was falling from the shots to the leg. I lost ten inches of colon and have a bad scar from my sternum to my beltline with a cute detour around my belly button.
The one in my forehead hit me a few inches above and between my eyes. In the thickest part of the head fortunately. It richocheted off towards my right. I picked a bit of copper jacket out of the bottom of my earlobe a few weeks later. I thought it was a zit or blackhead at first.
It's really hard to get copper jacket shrapnel out. It looks like it is surrounded by little barbs/hooks and really grabs. Some of the pieces I can dig out myself but some are over a cm across. The worst look like a little flat(ish) wafer surrounded by barbs.
I was a complete invalid for a while. I went from a wheelchair to a walker to crutches and finally a severe limp. It has taken me a long time to rehab myself. I can finally stay on my feet for a while without severe pain and big-time swelling in my right leg. I only limp when I'm wore out now and especially after training legs. I really think I look ridiculous after leg day. My limp is not something I can control though. I walk really slow after legs and take small steps and still have a bad limp.
Unfortunately I became addicted to opiates after being shot. I won't bother getting too deep into that subject because I've already written a short story here.
Suffice to say I've been sober since August 12, 2014 and I love being sober. I'll gladly talk about it and can give advice on the subject. My advice : Don't start, because stopping is harder than you would ever imagine.
I'm undoubtedly one of the luckiest unlucky people I know. I have an awesome smart little boy that I love more than life itself. He's the best. I have my health. I'm not rich in material things but I'm very rich in what matters to me. I hope to be around for a while and hopefully contribute to the collective knowledge.
