A question about a career in Finance

Did not know how many brothers may work in the Financial industry. I teach it and have been a teacher for 10 years, and am thinking about transitioning out of the education field.

My question would be what do you do in Finance? How long have you done it? What are the pros and con's about it? Do you work for a local business or a top financial company? How difficult would it be to get into?

Thanks!

That's a broad range of careers, do you mean more as an advisor/planner or just anything related in the financial field i.e. controller's, public and non-public accountants, etc? I'm a CPA by trade and it's a job honestly like anything else to me. I don't "love" it but I don't "hate" it. Tax season sucks. I'm primarily an auditor tho, I do very little tax work, really only for about 6 weeks of the year.

For me, I think advisor or planner would be the best. Dad was an accountant and I was bored with it. I just want something that has better job security than a teacher. I will lose my current spot due to coaching differences. Once the current head coach moves on, I can reapply to come back. I am in good standing with everyone at the school and community.
