Hi, guys; I'm posting here at the invitation of D-RED. No pressure, no guilt trips. Just fishing about for support.

Friends, fans, and supporters:
Since June of 2010, I have been putting my progress (and often the lack of it) into a video journal on YouTube. As it is a no-budget project I do when I can, using my aging business equipment, the results have been mixed: Some short episodes, some long; sometimes close together, sometimes months apart.
In the past few months I've been getting feedback, and from some surprising sources, namely huge bodybuilding competitors admittedly using steroids. So ... big guys. And their feedback was about how awesome it was to see an average guy's adventure; how encouraging it was to see someone who is not a celebrity, not backed by a lot of corporate interests, just telling his story. (One amazing muscleguy who I wouldn't have imagined for a moment I would ever impress said, "You are one badass m*****-f***** for making those videos.")
My mind has therefore been contemplating the idea of improving the YouTube channel in two ways: Getting a better camera for it (something high-definition), and putting out a new episode every week so that viewers aren't left wondering when they should come back to the channel. It would still be me, in my usual mix of commentary, some humor, footage of workouts, etc. I don't want to change the tone of the channel, just make some improvements to its professionalism.
I plan to work hard to make this happen, but the reality is that it would be easier with some financial support. Editing an episode takes a full day: That's a day I can't go find some paying work, if I want to get the episode done. Other aspects cost a little along the way as well.
Some have suggested using YouTube's "monetize" function but I hate it when I go to someone else's video and commercials pop up first, or the banner ad shows up across the bottom of the video a few seconds in. I refuse to do that to my viewers just to earn some pennies.
Over the eight months from May 1st to December 31st, I will be trying to raise some funds to make this channel "upgrade" happen. And I am bringing it to your attention to see if you'd be interested in supporting this plan. A new high-definition camera at a reasonable price is about $2000, and I am putting an estimated value of $100 on each episode (which, on a weekly plan, would be 52 episodes for 2017). I am hoping, therefore, to raise approximately $7500 through crowd-funding, donations, and possibly some locally-based business sponsorships.
If you have any interest in being a part of the support for this project, I would love to have your help. Anything from "big money" on down to "spare change" would be a welcome addition. I've created some categories of recognition below, and would be open to discussing any other offers.
If that does not interest you, or you don't have the financial means to participate, please do not feel apologetic or in any way regretful. I am simply throwing this idea out into the open and seeing if it nets any monetary help. With or without that help, I will continue to "vlog" my journey as long as I have a working camera, a working computer, and the drive to improve myself. Having you there, with your e-mails of encouragement (and sometimes butt-kicking), and your comments on the videos, is the important thing.
Thanks for reading!

All donated funds will be kept in an interest-bearing savings account until 2017. All funds are fully refundable until January 1st, 2017; if you request your donation be canceled and the funds returned, you will receive that percentage of the interest which your donation represents of the entire account at the time. (We're talking pennies, don't get too excited.)
ADDENDUM FOR "HARDCORE-UG":
I'm not a steroid user. After seeing "Bigger, Faster, Stronger", I don't judge, and I'm not going to narc or whatever. And I don't even know all the details about such things. I do know some substances are illegal so if you choose to support and want to use your business name, you'd have to assure me that I was not, by proxy, representing any illegal activity before I could include your business name in the credits of an episode in good conscience.
