I use a syringe plunger tip to smooth, flatten and curl the sharp aluminum edges when removing a cap off a vial. This prevents the alcohol swap to frail and potentially insert into vial. Just as an added precaution.
you can tell how quality the aluminum cover is by how bad the edges protrude upwards.
PLEASE NOTE: I am using this vial as an example as it was fine when I removed the cap
