I just take the HDD or ssd out and disassemble the hdd, could always smash the platters too. SSD I haven't took one of those apart yet but smashing one of those is pretty easy anyway, no platters or anything.
 
Good stuff brother! I'm in process of redoing my old laptop and this info is definitely what I was looking for! I want to set it up with the only thing in mind is being secure and stealthy.

I need to completely wipe my hard drive and start new...thinks g DBan is the way to go. Thanks brother!
