Disable Windows Defender Security Center Service Windows 10

Thanks for the tip, and with every update Microsoft seems to add more annoyances to Windows 10. I don't use Windows all that much as I spend more time on Linux where I have more control over things on my system. As a a systems administrator, any annoyances that pop up for me or for my users are the bane of using Windows at work.

From that article I can see how enterprises are going to have issues with Windows 10 that can break certain enterprise software such as Symantec Endpoint Protection which is pretty common in large corporations.

Maybe if enough people complain Microsoft will actually listen to it's customers. I posted another tip from a guy that is a former Microsoft employee. Seems like he knows what he is talking about. I'd use Linux if there was more support for it.

I could have stayed with Windows 7, but Microsoft and Intel apparently are just going to make it harder and harder for people who want to use Windows 7. Especially on a brand new PC. Each day I find more and more things to disable on Windows 10 because of the spying/spyware. I will say Windows 10 seems much faster than Windows 7 was. If the spyware wasn't pre-installed and Windows 10 didn't spy on people it wouldn't be a bad OS. It's a pain to navigate and figure out where things are, but I tend to use 3rd party software for most things anyway. Haven't been using it long though. MS wants everyone on Windows 10 so they can spy on you. Why do you think they gave it away for free?. I actually paid for my copy though as it was for a new build.

I can bet MS will soon lock down even more of those settings over time.

Even AMD has jumped on the Windows 10 train too by only supporting their new Ryzen line of CPU's on Windows 10 and not 7, so you might not get the optimized experience on Ryzen with Win7.

Yeah I found that patch to get past MS blocking windows update with the newer cpus. Who knows knows how long that will work for though?. Plus with Intel I chatted with their support and asked them if they were going to release drivers for Win 7 64 bit for Intel 630 HD. They said they have no plans to!. I found a beta driver that worked, but I really don't want to use a beta driver for the life of my pc. I even asked my motherboard manufacturer about my Kaby Lake CPU and they told me get Windows 10. It's as if MS has paid off all these hardware manufacturers to jump on the Windows 10 or nothing bandwagon as well. Microsoft is becoming like Apple.

As far as I'm concerned the customer should be able to use any version of Windows they like and MS should and hardware manufactures should support it. Well, down to a point, no reason to go all the way back to XP. Although I think XP was the second best version of Windows ever. At least support from Windows 10 back to Windows 7. Instead Windows 10 is big "F u" to Windows 7 users.

Yes, I do feel MS will start driving away a lot of people as Linux is getting better and better while iOS is getting just as locked-down as Win10. MS has pretty much cajoled and bullied all major h/w makers into only supporting Win10 going forward.

Kaby Lake is getting some love on Linux but still work to be done on getting the Intel drivers working solidly on that CPU platform.
